Lisbon gives you a capital and a coastline in one trip, at a price level that is unusual for Western Europe. Four hours by air, an airport inside the city and sun from March to October. It is built on hills, which turns getting around into part of the experience rather than dead time. Conference capacity is greater than most expect, and the coast at Cascais is half an hour out when the programme needs a change of scene.
Hotels and meeting venues in Lisbon
Lisbon has conference capacity that many southern European cities lack. EPIC SANA Lisboa and Corinthia Lisbon both take large groups with meeting facilities in house, which keeps the day in one building. Tivoli Avenida da Liberdade is the step up, on the city's main boulevard with a rooftop and a shorter walk to dinner. For smaller groups wanting character over capacity, Memmo Príncipe Real works well. We match hotel to group size and to how much of the programme happens on site.
Activities and dinners in Lisbon
Lisbon is built on hills, which makes getting around part of the programme. A sidecar or tuk-tuk run through Alfama and up to the castle covers the old city in an afternoon and gets a group talking. Sailing on the Tejo at sunset works as an activity and as transport to dinner. Sintra is 40 minutes out for a full day among palaces, and Cascais has surf lessons for groups who want to move. Dinners run from fado in a small room in Alfama to modern kitchens at Time Out Market.
